Description
The water curtain is a device connected to the end of a hose (or fixed pipe) that, when placed on the ground without supports and operating at any pressure (up to 18 bar), remains stationary and forms a fan-shaped curtain of water that protects against fire radiation and also serves as a shield for other water projections along different lines. Its multiple uses are the best indication of its usefulness: creating corridors between fires, trenches for water spraying, safety screens for welding in hazardous atmospheres, cooling areas and structures, protecting vehicles in fires, etc.
The material used for its construction is aluminum, so heat radiation does not deform it. It is machined both inside and out to allow for better water flow through the device, preventing pressure loss due to friction.
Device in the shape of a truncated cone with a semicircular screen. All devices come equipped with a handle for transport and better handling.
It should be connected to a hose and placed on a preferably flat surface, supplied with water. The water exits in a crescent shape as the jet strikes the screen of the device itself.
This appliance requires no maintenance. However, if it has been used with very dirty or salty water, it is recommended to clean it to prevent blockages or penetrating corrosion.
